RapidRides are those red and yellow buses you see around Seattle. They follow specific routes and operate much like a train; meaning they make less stops and make extensive use of transit signal priority to preempt traffic lights. One thing that helps these buses stick to their schedule is that you can tap your ORCA before boarding the bus. Taping on before you get in the bus means, you can board the bus using any of the doors. Don’t worry, you can also still use cash (or your ORCA card) like you would on a regular bus using the front door. Another cool amenity included in RapidRide buses is that they come equipped with free on board WiFi, so you can listen to that podcast, catch up on emails or maybe stream a movie.
