What is U District, Let’s Go?
U District, Let’s Go is a transportation demand management program that just completed its pilot phase of programming! Through our work we engaged with over 4,900 individuals! We built relationships with the neighborhood’s small businesses, service organizations and met a lot of great people along the way. What is U District, Let's Go?
U District, Let’s Go is a year-long pilot program helping to connect people working, living and visiting the U District with transportation resources. U District, Let’s Go! is a collaboration with Transportation Choices Coalition, Seattle Department of Transportation, U District Partnership, supported by a WSDOT project using Congestion Mitigation & Air Quality (CMAQ) funds.

We’re connecting businesses with resources like toolkits and new employee onboarding resources to help their employees make the most out of their commutes. We’re engaging with the community through fun and informative events like walks, workshops and presentations. If you are interested in partnering with us on an event or want to invite us into your workplace, please connect with us.

What types of resources are available to people working in the U District?
If you’ve ever considered a new commute, but are not sure where to start you are not alone. We can help you get to that first step of finding a commute that best fits your needs. How do I get an ORCA LIFT card?
U District, Let’s Go can get you connected with an ORCA LIFT card preloaded with funds to help get you going. It’s easy to get one, provided you meet the qualifications and it’s easy to meet us. We’ve partnered with U District coffee shops and community centers to host monthly enrollment events. If you are unable to make it to an event, please visit our Contact page to connect with us.

There are several ways we can connect your business with transportation resources such as pre-loaded ORCA cards, and ideas orienting your new employees with transportation resources. What types of resources are available to people living in the U District?
The transportation landscape is changing in the U District, with the recently-passed rezone and addition of Sound Transit’s Link light rail Northgate Link Extension and RapidRide coming to Roosevelt Way NE. You should have a say into how it changes. Let us know your thoughts, concerns and suggestions and let’s be a part of the change together.

How can I get involved?
There are several ways to get involved that move beyond signing up for our newsletter or following us on social media. We’re always in need of volunteers to help us at events and are always looking to partner where ever we can to maximize our resources. If you have idea and want to connect, please reach out!

How can I make it easier for people to visit my store?
Make sure you let people know how they can get to your store in all possible ways, such as transit, biking and walking. Share that information on your website, social media and other outlets. You can make your store more bike friendly by requesting a bike rack from Seattle Department of Transportation. You can give a small discount to people that get to your store via their bicycles, taking transit or walking there. Schedule a meeting with us, we want to hear more about what is important to your business so we can help you develop a comprehensive plan for you.
