Getting to and from the Special Olympics
The 2018 Special Olympics will be held at the University of Washington with the majority of the games held at Husky Stadium, July 1 – 6, 2018. An estimated 70,000 people are expected to come to U District area to attend the games. Ridership of the Link Light Rail will be heavily in use as will transit lines and roadways.
Here are five ways to make sure you have a plan to get the the U District during this time:
- Find an alternate route this week. Visit our commute planning services to discover a new route
- If you can, plan to work from home
- If you plan to utilize Link light rail to get to the U District make sure you are ready to board an have your ticket in hand
- Download the Transit GO Ticket application on your smartphone
- Have your ORCA card ready, (Tap on and off on Link light rail)
- Buy your tickets or an ORCA card at the Ticket Vending Machines before boarding
